Minutes of the meetings of the members of the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Columbia University. Activities recorded include discussion of college business, nomination and election of Trustees, memorial statements for prominent members, reports of the college's delegates to professional meetings, and lectures on topics related to the science and business of pharmacy. Earlier meetings tend to have more substantive content, while later meetings were briefer and more routine. The College by-laws stipulated that members had to be an “adult of good moral character who shall have been actively engaged as a pharmacist or druggist for a term of at least four years" and who had made a financial contribution to the College. They were elected by the Board of Trustees and, in turn, members were responsible for electing the Trustees. Members also served as the College's delegates to the annual meetings of the American Pharmaceutical Association and the New York State Pharmaceutical Association.
