- A single document within a collection
- Archival Repository
- A physical place in which archival records are housed. That place can be a library, museum, business, historical society, philanthropic foundation, seminary, etc.

- Holdings
- Archival collections housed in an archival repository
- Inclusive Dates
- Dates in which records in a collection have been generated.

- Standard identification of historical eras
