Chinese-American Planning Council (CPC) Beacon Community Center at I.S. 220

CPC Beacon at I.S. 220 provides a range of after-school programming, including health and fitness, academic preparation classes, and Chinese traditional dance classes. These programs are located in I.S. 220 which is a public middle school in Sunset Park, District 20. The majority of participants reside in Sunset Park and nearby areas. Funded by NYC's Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), this program is part of the broader CPC organization, which offers a multitude of services such as childcare, adult literacy programs, and access to legal services, among others. The CPC Beacon has put on events and showcases highlighting specifically Chinese culture such as holidays, literature, and poetry.
